Singapore gets special 2020 election Twitter emoji

With the general election just over the horizon, Twitter has launched a special emoji to be paired with conversations about it on the platform.
Now through election day on July 17, an emoji and animated GIF featuring the Singapore national flag and a ballot box will appear when using hashtags such as #SingaporeElection, #SGElection, #SingaporeVotes, #SGvotes and #GE2020.
Users are encouraged to use them to “amplify and empower” their tweets about the upcoming election.

“Twitter is what’s happening and where people go to follow elections around the world – including Singapore. Please start Tweeting away using any of the hashtags listed above and stay tuned for more on how to follow #GE2020 on Twitter!” the social media giant said in a statement.
Nomination Day is set to take place June 30 and Polling Day on July 10.
